Lewistown Man Wanted For Warrant Arrested
(Canton, IL) -- A Lewistown man wanted on an active warrant was arrested last week. Canton police say they went to 356 Park Court attempting to locate 34-year old Seth C. Hazzard on Friday night at just before 9:15. Police say that Hazzard was wanted on a 2018 Fulton County Warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Authorities say that they did locate Hazzard at the address. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed. Hazzard was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
Traffic Stop Results In Two Arrests
(Canton, IL) -- Two people are facing charges after police in Canton conducted a traffic stop last week. Officers say they observed a vehicle on Main Street heading to Elm Street that had an expired registration sticker on it. Police say they then conducted the stop near the intersection of Main and Pine Streets. The driver ws identified as 23-year old Miranda R. Moore of Champaign. She was unable to provide officers with proof of insurance. An investigation also found that Moore was wanted on a 2017 Fulton County Warrant, failure to appear for an abandoned vehicle. Officers also say they detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers say they found open alcohol. The passenger in the vehicle, 23-year old Deondray A. Eubank of Charleston told police it was his. Both were charged. Eubank was given a notice to appear for illegal transportation of alcohol and released at the scene with a pending court date at the Fulton County Courthouse in Lewistown. Moore was taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed on multiple charges, including driving a motor vehicle without insurance, imporper lane usage, DUI, DUI over .08 and disobeying a stop sign. She was unable to post bond and Moore was later transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
Person Arrested For 2017 Shooting In Burlington
(Burlington, IA) -- A man is under arrest for a deadly shooting in Burlington almost a year ago. Chicago Police arrested Antoine Spann earlier this month for killing Demarcus Chew in September 2017. The shooting happened on North 5th Street and authorities say more people may be arrested.
Long-Time Moline Police Dept. Member, Former Chief Dies
(Moline, IL) -- A long-time member of the Moline Police Department who also served as chief has died. Police said on Facebook that F. Steven Etheridge died Sunday more than 13 years after his retirement. Etheridge joined the department 43 years ago and in October 1990, he became chief.
