Multiple Charges Filed Against Canton Man
(Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing multiple charges after an incident that occured over the weekend. Police say at just after 7 on Sunday morning they observed a passenger car parked on the roadway in the 100 block of West Pine Street with the passenger door open. They then found a black bag about 15 feet from the vehicle. Authorities say it appeared there was dried blood on the vehicle and that the door had been damaged.. Officers located the owner of the vehicle but they had no knowledge as to why the vehicle was there or to what happened. Police did locate paperwork that was release papers from Graham Hospital with blood on them near the vehicle. The paper work was for 29-year old Ryan L. Moore. Police say they had previously had interaction with Moore at just before 2:30 on Sunday morning. He was taken to Graham Hospital for treatment of a laseration to his finger. Officers did meet with Moore on Monday morning at about 1 at the apartment complext located at 1002 East Oak Street. Following an investigation, Moore was charged with criminal damage to property and trespass to a motor vehicle. He was taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on the charges. Moore posted a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee before being released with a Fulton County Court date in Lewistown for later this month.
Washington State Teen Charged With Battery
(Canton, IL) -- A teen from Washington state is facing charges after Canton police received a battery complaint earlier this week. Authorities say that officers were dispatched to the apartments located at 1002 East Oak Street Tuesday afternoon at just after 3:30 on the complaint and that a fight was taking place in the west parking lot of the apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 56-year old Canton woman who told them that she had been threatened by 19-year old Savannah V. Marshall of Vancouver, Washington. Marshall was also allegedly involved in a fight with a 20-year old Canton female. The female told police that Marshall had approached her, shoved her in the chest, knocking her to the ground. Following an investigation, Marshall was arrested and charged with battery. She was taken to the Canton Police Department where she was processed. After being given a notice to appear, she was released and given a Fulton County Court date in Lewistown for later this month.
Canton Traffic Stop Results In Canton Womans Arrest
(Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman is facing charges after police made a traffic stop in Canton after spotting her driving and knew she had a suspended driver's license. Police say they observed her driving on Grant Street and then conducted the stop near the intersection of South 7th Avenue and East Anderson Street Tuesday night at about 8:30. Authorities cited her for driving while license suspended. She was released at the scene with a notice to appear and was given a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.
Rock Island Robbery Results In Guilty Pleas
(Rock Island, IL) -- One teenager is going to prison for a robbery in Rock Island while another will wait to receive his sentence. The Quad-City Times reports Hunter Adlfinger received seven years in prison for the robbery back on March 4th. Adlfinger and Jack Kalagian admitted to taking the wallets from a man and a woman on 34th Street. Kalagian's sentencing is expected to happen on October 29th.
Date For Agreement In Steele Lawsuit Settlement Pushed Back
(Burlington, IA) -- The deadline to reach an agreement in the lawsuit surrounding the death of a woman in Burlington has been pushed back. The Hawk Eye reports August 10th is the new date for a settlement to be finalized regarding the death of Autumn Steele. She died in 2015 after being shot by Burlington Police Officer Jesse Hill and a two-million-dollar settlement was reached almost two months ago.
