Treatment, Not Trial For Illinois Man Accused In Waffle House Shooting

(Nashville, TN)  --  The central Illinois man charged with killing four people at a Tennessee Waffle House isn't going to trial anytime soon.  A judge in Nashville yesterday found Travis Reinking unfit for trial.  The judge said he hopes that by getting Reinking treatment for schizophrenia, he will eventually be able to go to trial.  Police say Reinking killed four people during a shooting back in April.

New Judge For Galva Man Accused Of Murder

(Galesburg, IL)  --  A Knox County man facing a murder charge is getting a new judge.  Judge Anthony Vaupel yesterday took over James Love's murder trial.  Love is accused of shooting and killing Xavier Hartman to death back in June.  Love has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Stanley Liggins Wants Another Delay In Murder Trial

(Davenport, IA)  --  The main suspect in the 1990 murder of a Quad Cities girl is asking for another delay in his third trial.  Stanley Liggins' lawyers yesterday asked for a four month delay.  Liggins is supposed to go on trial next week for the rape and murder of nine-year-old Jennifer Lewis back in 1990.

Illinois To Build New 200-Bed Mental Health Prison Facility

(Springfield, IL)  --  The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking to start work on a new mental health treatment center by next spring.  Governor Rauner's administration this week announced plans for a 200-bed, 150 million-dollar mental health and medical facility in Joliet.  Illinois is moving ahead with the project because of a 2007 lawsuit that demanded better mental health care in the state's prisons.
