Crop Report


(Undated)  --  Corn is progressing more quickly than in recent years according to the latest Illinois Crop Report.  The state's corn crop is now silking on 97-percent of acres, well ahead of last year and the five year average says Illinois Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener.  88-percent of soybeans are blooming and 66-percent are setting pods. The condition of the soybean crop improved to 78-percent in good to excellent condition. Average statewide topsoil moisture increased to four-percent very short, 16-percent short, 77-percent adequate and three-percent surplus.
