Most Kids Spend Too Much Time With Screens

(Undated)  --  With most kids back in school in Fulton County, it more likely they've got their eyes on a screen than their head in a book.  Recent studies find the average 8 to 10-year-old American child spends about six hours looking at a screen every day. Pediatrician Marcela Cristea says that's too much screen time. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting screen time for 18-24 months to a half hour to an hour a day, with a parent.  Two to five year olds can get about an hour, with a parent.  Kids 6 and older can log solo recreational screen time, but that should be limited to 1 to 2 hours a day.
