Epipen Shortage Remains Unresolved As Kids Head Back To School

(Undated)  --  A national Epipen shortage remains unresolved as kids head back to school.  It's an issue that affects nearly six-million children or about two in every classroom.   A recent Food Allergy & Research Education survey shows eight out of ten people said they couldn't fill prescriptions for life-saving epinephrine.   FARE says if you're affected by the shortfall, visit healthmart-dot-com to find an independent pharmacy that might have Epipens in stock or ask your doctor to prescribe a different brand.  In an emergency, FARE recommends using your expired auto injector, if it's all you have, and then call 9-1-1 to get followup treatment.
