Fulton County Crime Stoppers Asking For Help In Regard To A Recent Motor Vehicle Theft

(Canton, IL)  --  Fulton County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect or suspects in a recent motor vehicle theft in Canton.  Authorities say that between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Sunday July 22nd the victim discovered his 2014 Black Ford F150 was missing from his residence in the 900 Block of North 5th Avenue in Canton.  Then, at approximately 6 p.m.  on Sunday, July 22nd, the truck was located behind Cuba Tap. Two Arrested After Traffic Stop In Canton

(Canton, IL)  --  Two people are facing charges after a traffic stop that took place in Canton last week. Canton police say they recognized the driver of the vehicle as 18-year old Rachel D. Johnson of Canton and knew she had an invalid driver's license last Friday night at about 7:30. After making the stop, it was confirmed that Johnson was driving.  There were four others in the vehicle. K-9 Shiva of the Canton Police Department was called in and alerted on the vehicle. When the four passengers got out of the vehicle, one, 24-year old Kimberly A. Jorgensen of Canton told officers that she had pot in her purse.  During a seach of the vehicle, police located 2 plastic bags with pot, one with 15 grams of cannabis and the other with 10 grams. They also found a glass pipe with suspected methemphetamine residue in it. A pipe used to smoke cannabis with pot residue in it was also found.  All were located in Jorgensen's purse.  A glass pipe that allegedly belonged to Johnson was also found. Both Jorgensen and Johnson were arrested.  Johnson was only cited for driving without a valid driver's license. She was give a notice to appear at the scene and released with a September court date at the Fulton County Courthouse. Jorgensen was taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed on charges of possession of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  She posted a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee before being released with an August Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.

Three Area Teens Charged With Underage Drinking

(Canton, IL)  --  Three teens are facing charges after Canton police received a suspicious person complaint last week.  Officers say the complainant told them that 2 males had gotten into a car that was parked in a yard near the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Holly Street Friday morning at just after 2.  When officers arrived they didn't find a vehicle that had two people in it but rather three that was parked in the yard.  Officers did talk to a male that appeared to be intoxicated that said the car with the suspicious males in it was his.  While at the scene, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle that had three people in it.  After an investigation, police arrested the three inside the vehicle after determining they had been drinking.  Police arrested 18-year old Mason A. Scalf of Canton, a 17-year old Glasford female and an 18-year old Bartonville female.  Scalf was cited and given a city ordinance citation for consumption of alcohol by a minor.  The two minors were taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed on the same charge, a city ordinance citation of consumption of alcohol by a minor. They were later released to their parents. All three have pending court dates at the Fulton County Courthouse in Lewistown.

Fight Leads To Stabbing In Muscatine

(Muscatine, IA)  --  Muscatine Police are looking for information about a stabbing that left one woman injured.  The stabbing happened at 2nd and Parmalee Streets on Sunday morning during a fight.  Karen Gardner was injured, but her injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening.

Quad Cities Family Wants Help In Finding Missing Boy

(Rock Island, IL)  --  The family of a two-year-old boy who fell into the Mississippi River thinks he may be stuck under a local dock.  Hawk Newberry's uncle John Bell yesterday said he believes the little boy's body is stuck under the metal dock at Rock Island's Schwiebert Riverfront Park.  Newberry fell into the water earlier this month, but crews never found his body. Bell says there is a large board under the dock that traps debris, and he says Hawk may be stuck against the board.

Nine Fire Departments Respond To Coal Valley Fire

(Coal Valley, IL)  --  Fire investigators in Coal Valley say smoke detectors likely saved five lives.  Nine Quad Cities-area fire departments responded to a huge fire at a house in Coal Valley yesterday.  Everyone inside the home made it out, but the house is a total loss. Investigators say they're looking for a cause.
