Ford Issue Recall Over Cable Issue

(Dearborn, MI)  --  Owners of some Ford vehicles in Fulton County should take note.  A possible problem with the shifter cables in over 550-thousand Ford vehicles is prompting a recall. The automaker says the cable bushings could fail disconnecting the cable from the transmission.  The vehicle would appear to be in park, but Ford says there could be "unintended vehicle movement" that could lead to a crash or injury. However, no injuries have been reported due to the problem. The recall affects 2013 to 2016 Ford Fusion and 2013 to 2014 Ford Escape models in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.  Dealers will replace the bushing at no charge.
