Nonprofit Provides Online Resource For Safe Needle Disposal Directions


(Undated)  --  Millions of people who use needles, lancets or auto injectors outside of medical facilities to treat chronic medical conditions may be unsure of how to get rid of their used sharps safely.  A spokeswoman for the nonprofit NeedyMeds says it's not necessarily that difficult, but you need to be careful.

NeedyMeds says most local governments want you to put your used needles in a strong plastic container, duck tape it shut, label it "do not recycle" and put it in the trash.  It suggests checking local regulations at SafeNeedleDisposal.org.
