Illinois Governor: Quincy Vets Home Work Moving At Accelerated Pace

(Quincy, IL)  --  Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner says the state is trying to hurry the repairs at the Quincy veterans home.  The governor told The Quincy Herald Whig yesterday that the work is moving at an 'accelerated pace.'  Illinois lawmakers earmarked 53 million-dollars for the outdated home.  The goal is to replace the water system that is linked to a Legionnaires outbreak.  But the governor says the first step is to buy the Sycamore Healthcare Center in Quincy and turn it into a temporary home for the veterans.
