Domestic Incident Results In Canton Mans Arrest

(Canton, IL)  --  A Canton man is facing charges after a domestic incident that occured over the weekend.  Canton police sya they were dispatched to an address on East Pine Street on Sunday where they say it was reported that 31-year old Gary L. Rickert, III, grabbed the victim, a female, and threw her to the ground.  After arriving on the scene, Canton police conducted a brief investigation and arrested Rickert on a charge of domestic battery, unlawful restraint, interference with reporting domestic violence and criminal damage to property to property under $500.  Rickets was taken directly to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

Canton Man Wanted On An Active Warrant Arrested and Now Facing Additional Charges

(Canton, IL)  --  A Canton man wanted on two warrants is now facing addition charges.  Canton police say that an officer spotted 52-year old Leslie Shoen outside of Parlin-Ingersol Library.  The officer then pulled next to Shoen when he then took off on foot.  He was told to stop.  The officer then caught up with Shoen North of East Locust Street.  He was then arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. While being arrested, Shoen told the officer that he was heading home to get money.  He was given a non traffic citation for resisting/obstructing a police officer.  He was processed on that charge as well as the warrants, a 2016 Fulton County Warrant unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and a 2018 Fulton County Warrant for dog at large.  Shoen was unable to post bond for the warrants and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

Active Warrant Results In Canton Mans Arrest

(Canton, IL)  --  A Canton man was arrested on an valid warrant over the weekend.  Canton police say they observed 27-year old Aarron President entering Moore's Pub Saturday morning at about 12:30 and knew he was wanted on a 2017 Fulton County Warrant, failure to appear, pay order for driving while license was suspended.  Police say he was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department and processed.  President posted a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee. He was then released with an August Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.

Canton Man Wanted On Valid Warrant Arrested

(Canton, IL)  --  A Canton man wanted on an active warrant was arrested late last week.  Canton police say officers observed 41-year old Chad McAllister walking in the area of North Avenue C and West Chestnut Street on Friday night at about 9:30 and knew that he was wanted on a 1998 Fulton County Warrant, failure to appear for contempt of court.  He was then arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed for the warrant.  McAllister was unable to post bond and was later transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

Western Illinois Man Dead After Fall At Mount Rushmore

(Keystone, SD)  --  A western Illinois man is dead after a fall at Mount Rushmore. Authorities in Pennington County, South Dakota say hikers found 58-year-old Anthony Rashid's body at the base of a cliff not far from the Mount Rushmore monument on Friday. Rashid is from Kewanee, Illinois. Investigators say Rashid's body was found not far from a popular climbing spot.

Knox County Prosecutors Re-File Murder Charges Against Galva Managers

(Galesburg, IL)  --  Prosecutors in Galesburg are upgrading the charges against a Galva man for a deadly June shooting. The Knox County State's Attorney's Office yesterday re-filed murder charges against Jim Love for a shooting last month outside his house that left Xavier Hartman dead. A grand jury indicted Love for reckless homicide and involuntary manslaughter earlier this month, but refused to indict him for murder. Love is due in court tomorrow to face the new murder charges.
