Kroger Launches Healthy Options App

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  Grocery chain Kroger is launching a new app aimed at helping consumers make healthier choices.  Shoppers can scan a grocery item with the app, called Opt-Up, and receive a score based on the item's nutritional value.  Grocery items are separated into red, yellow and green categories and the higher the score, the healthier the product.  The scoring system is determined, in part, by nationally recognized dietary guidelines and Kroger dietitians.
