Illinois Farm Bureau Chief Wants Trade, Not Aid

(Bloomington, IL)  --  The head of the Illinois Farm Bureau says farmers in the state don't want a handout. Farm Bureau President Richard Guebert yesterday said that he and other farmers across the state would rather have access to free markets and trade. Guebert says President Trump's tariffs which led to tariffs on Illinois pork and soybeans, will be bad for farmers in the long term. President Trump yesterday introduced a 12 billion-dollar emergency aid package for farmers that he says will offset the impact of those tariffs.
